Ryan D Quarrington
I am a grant-funded research fellow at The University of Adelaide. Recognised internationally as an emerging leader in biomechanics research, I investigate spinal, orthopaedic, brain, and road‑traffic injury mechanisms to inform prevention and treatment. My work integrates epidemiological analyses, cadaveric and in vivo experimentation, and high fidelity in silico modelling, translating biomechanical insights into evidence based engineering and clinical interventions. Awarded the 2022 Dr Dorothea Sandars Churchill Trust Fellowship, I undertook placements in leading laboratories across the UK, Europe, and North America, where I established robust and enduring collaborations with academic, clinical, and industry leaders. I currently lead a research group comprising three staff and four PhD candidates (one completion), and coordinate interdisciplinary projects funded by national agencies and industry partnerships. My goal is to reduce the global burden of preventable injuries and diseases through rigorous, translational biomechanics research that advances both policy and practice.
